My goal for 2024 was to read 24 books this year. I know, it isn’t some sort of extravagant goals or anything like that, simply two books a month. And I am proud to say, that I have failed that goal. Here are the books that I read through 2024:

  1. A Court of Frost and Starlight
  2. A Court of Flames and Silver
  3. Throne of Glass
  4. Crown of Midnight
  5. Heir of Fire
  6. Queen of Shadows
  7. Empire of Storms
  8. Tower of Dawn
  9. Kingdom of Ash
  10. Uglies
  11. Pretties
  12. Extras
  13. Specials
  14. Crescent City
  15. House of Sky and Breath
  16. House of Flame and Shadow
  17. The Book of Lost Names

Now you might be thinking to yourself, why am I “proud” of not accomplishing my goal?

Well, believe it or not, I actually fell out of love with reading and have been trying to rediscover it throughout this year. I’m happy to report that I did! And not only that, but I started writing my own book too, and even attended a fantasy ball!

Life sometimes gets in the way of our plans, and that’s okay. The goal was never just about hitting a number; it was about enjoying the process of reading and getting back to my roots.

Every time I picked up a book, I was able to escape reality for a little while and immerse myself in the creativity of other authors. I savored those moments, whether it was a gripping plot twist or a beautifully written passage that made me pause and reflect. So, though there may not be a huge number of books to celebrate, the quality of what I read far outweighs the physical amount.

And who knows, maybe next year I’ll achieve my goal of reading 24 books!

Thank you! I still find it a struggle to pick up a new book, but I know once I do that I won’t regret it 🙂

I’m Morgan

Nice to virtually meet you!

Welcome to my blog.

This is a space where I share my work, discuss the trials and tribulations of writing, and celebrate the art of bringing a world to life with a pen and paper (or in this case a keyboard and a screen). It is a place filled with typos and awkward sentences, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you stay awhile.

If you like what you see, I also have an Instagram account (linked below) if you’re interested! Come give me a follow 🙂
